A commission from Works on Water, Opera in the Shower is a playful meditation on the use of water in our daily lives. A shower appears in the park.   From within, an opera singer, dressed in an old fashioned bathing suit, shower cap and with a scrub brush, sings from her repertoire in an outdoor shower.  Beautiful and powerful song emanates from the shower: Nature-themed arias are interspersed with operatic renditions of well known water themed songs and take the listeners on a journey of hope, loss, loneliness, acceptance and empowerment.  The piece is touching, funny and surprising while inviting us to reflect on the solace and simple joy we experience through the use of water in our daily lives. Presented in 2017 in NYC as part of Works on Water and Art on the Beltline in Atlanta.
